Gameplay

It’s hard to judge the setting of this online slot: between the didgeridoo, the sitar and the symbols and magic alluding to some sort of a spiritual departure from reality, we’re not quite sure what we’re dealing with. In any case, it’s good to see a slot grid with a modified setup, this time with six reels instead of the usual five. There are no traditional paylines to speak of; instead, you get rewarded for landing matching symbols on consecutive reels, regardless of the position on the reel. The graphics on the icons, especially the titular Pink Elephants, are done superbly and with much attention to detail, and there’s a wild icon and a scatter icon, both of which come up frequently. Landing two or more scatters turns your screen aglow and you’ll proceed – following the four desert animals as they float towards the elephant deity – into the bonus game with up to 19 spins. Additional free rounds can be retriggered from within the bonus game, and there’s an additional feature that grants you the free round: The Elephant Orbs. These are collectibles that fill up, one by one, the allotted slots next to each game avatar. Once filled up, another free spin will be added to your tally. And then there’s the Mystery Scatter – glowing peanut (you can’t make this stuff up). Just like the regular scatter, this symbol also helps you reach the Bonus game. What makes it so mysterious, presumably, is that fact that it may be triggered at random.

Conclusion – Curious Theme but Interesting Features

Thunderkick has done a good job on the visuals with this slot and we commend them for that – although it’s not the most cutting-edge game we’ve seen, the 3D-like icons make the reel grid pop just enough. The whole ambiance is a bit hard to place though, thanks to the arid desert setting and vaguely tribal soundscape. Our best guess is that Pink Elephants does indeed allude to the Hindu god Ganesha, but some creative risks were taken, that much is true.
