Luau Loot – A Slot Vacation
A trend with the kids these days is faking holidays. Particularly those who are especially active on social media forums such as Facebook and Instagram are inclined to take a photo of themselves in front of a painted beach mural and add the caption “Beach time #holiday!” This slot game from Scientific Games is the slot version of that. See if the Hawaiian destination is right for you in the free demo of the slot below.
If you found this holiday to your liking, you can play for real money at Slotomania, the top casino for December 2024.

An Overview of the Rules and Features
Much like the faked photography mentioned above, Luau Loot is honestly nothing like taking a holiday. The Hawaiian theme is represented predominantly through the styling of the symbols, which include a radical surfer dude and a Polynesian hula dancer that come in at the top of the paychart. They’re only topped by the game logo itself, which also acts as a Wild, replacing every symbol except the Feature, which is a pixelated sunset. Aside from that, you’re looking at a flowery lei, a pair of parrots, a cheeky totem pole, a coconut, shell, mango and pineapple for your spinning symbols. The graphics aren’t great, though. They’re very 80s pixel-art style but not ironically. There’s not too much that is special about the standard five-reel, three-row layout either, though the lines are selectable which is a good shout. That means you can wager as low as 1p for 1 payline, or a total of £75 with wagers across all 25 paylines. There is a lot of missed potential with this slot game in terms of its soundtrack – there isn’t one. Just the stock standard (and jarring) sound effects on spins and wins. We really could have used a gentle ambient background track of waves lapping on a beach, or a soft melody of ‘Aloha Oe’ on a ukulele to add to the Hawaiian atmosphere, but instead the slot is quickly muted. Unfortunately, there’s not too much more to say about this slot, as it doesn’t have any free spins, there’s no bonus game or anything outstanding about it at all.

Conclusion – Better than Nothing
Luau Loot is a passable game from developer Scientific Games that leaves a lot to be desired. Its main redeeming quality is that it has a rather high return to player (RTP) of 96%, which is at the top of the overall average for slot games. However, there are a lot of better looking and better sounding Hawaiian themed slot games out there, so unless you’re a real fan of bad pixel graphics, we’d recommend you keep looking.
